Familiar ideas from Crusader Kings, in a shared world
Fantasy-Sim is not Crusader Kings, and it is not a grand strategy game. You play
one person in a world shared with other players, not a realm seen from above.
But if you have played Crusader Kings, some of its ideas will feel familiar.
What will feel familiar
- Your house outlives you. Characters grow old and die. You marry, raise
children and name an heir, and your house goes on.
- Titles and succession. Every country is a kingdom with a crown and a duchy
for every region. Titles pass at death, and a vacant crown is filled by the
dukes.
- Claims. Conquest and inheritance give claims, and pressing one is a way to
take a title.
- A council. Every kingdom has a council of twelve that passes its laws.
- Traits. What your character is born with, and what life does to them.
- Faith and plague. Three faiths with orders and relics, and epidemics that
spread from region to region.

What is different
- Every other lord is a player. The king, the dukes, the council and the
people you trade with and fight beside are other players.
- The world never pauses. A day in the world lasts an hour, and it goes on
turning while you are away.
- You are one person in it. You do not command a realm from above. You work,
trade, vote, preach and fight as one character, and power comes from the
players who stand with you.
- An economy run by players. Companies, wages, markets and currencies, all in
players' hands.
- A fantasy map. Five kingdoms of five peoples on one drawn island.
- It runs in your browser, for free. Nothing to install and nothing to buy.
